This series of Untitled works were done at a residency in Fuping, China for the Fule International Ceramic Museum (India). The works were inspired by the bricks from the brick factory attached to the residency studios.

 

The continuously production of bricks became both the inspiration as well as the material for this series. Unfired soft bricks were taken from the factory production process, sliced and deconstructed. The sliced bricks were reconstructed  into these lingam-esque, abstract, organic forms that reflect on "urbanisation" and the notion  of "development".
